One of today's most popular party board games is Apples to Apples
, a game where players take turns matching their random assortment of noun cards to the judge's selected adjective.
Example: The judge plays the adjective "Perfect" The other players (let's pretend there are three others) play The Beatles, New York Yankees, and Zooey Deschanel. Well if I were the judge, Zooey would win easily. But that's the fun of it. The game comes down to the opinions of each player as the judge changes after each turn. If my brother were the judge, one may save the Zooey card and instead opt to play the card labeled "Pokemon".
If you haven't played it, I can speak from personal experience and tell you that it's truly a lot of fun. You're also in luck if you haven't yet played it because THQ announced it will soon be coming to the downloadable market for 800 MSP.
The game will feature both offline and online modes allowing up to six players in a game. THQ also mentioned that players will choose from a set of sixteen different avatars to play as like a cowboy apple, ballerina apple, and pirate apple.
It will be interesting to see if the party atmosphere of the game translates to the TV screen. No firm release date has been announced but THQ mentioned a December release.
