DICE and EA have followed up the screenshots
released earlier this week, with the debut trailer for the "Back to Karkand" map pack that will be hitting Marketplace some time in December for Battlefield 3
The trailer showcases the four maps: Strike at Karkand, Sharqi Peninsula, Gulf of Oman, and Wake Island - taken from Battlefield 2
and "reimagined" using the Frostbite 2 engine, along with three new vehicles, ten new weapons, a new persistence system where players earn rewards for completing assignments, and the return of the Conquest Assault game mode.
No solid release date has yet been announced, but it has been confirmed that the "Back to Karkand" map pack will be available for free to gamers who pre-ordered the game, and 1200 MSP for those that didn't. The expansion will also include five new achievements and five new dog tags.
