fanboy, I know a thing or two about the thematic use of destiny and fate. In the upcoming, much anticipated RPG, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
, the story focuses on your character refusing the deterministic world around you. To expand that to gameplay, the developers put a lot of thought into the game's Destiny System, which will define who your character becomes over the course of the game. They wanted to do away with a strict class system and allow for the player to become exactly what they want to be. They released
a trailer for the gameplay mechanic a few weeks ago. This new developer diary expands on what we learned from that trailer.

is due out on February 7th, 2012 in North America, and February 10th in Europe.
