TA Gaming Stats - Nov 7th to Nov 13th 2011

Nothing to see here, nope, nothing at all. In fact, you already skipped my opening ramble and you moved right to the charts didn't you? Of course you did. It's alright, I'm not offended or anything, especially since everyone wants to know just what sort of crazy numbers Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be putting up.

Spoiler warning: https://www.trueachievements.com/Gears-of-War-3-xbox-360.htm had a larger debut.

This report is for the period November 7th to November 13th 2011.

Games Started
52,782 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 81,317 games between them (1,513 different games).

At long last, we have first week stats for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (25,330 gamers), Battlefield 3 (16,198 gamers) and Gears of War 3 (34,512 gamers). No opinions, no bias, just the actual numbers for opening week numbers among the TrueAchievement Community.

It is unfortunate that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim released on November 11th and only counted for two days of stats. Still, over 13,000 gamers in two days? I think that is a pretty good number, especially since the odd release date gives it a great shot at placing high next week as well.

As for the rest of the retail titles, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded and The Lord of the Rings: War in the North continue to disappoint. Did these two titles just get lost in the flood of releases? It's likely, especially since 515 gamers for the 10th spot is incredibly low.

As it turns out, no one was interested in arcade titles. Without a doubt, these are the lowest arcade numbers ever seen by the TA Stats Committee (of One). LIMBO (Xbox 360) was on sale for half off and so it easily claims the top spot while Shinobi, of all possible titles, slides into #2.

The only other title to break 200 gamers is Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, which was also on sale. Fusion: Genesis, a title I rather enjoyed due its unique gameplay, made a horrendous debut on the charts.

What a horrible time for arcade games, and with the amount of retail titles hitting store shelves just now, next week will be just as low. https://www.trueachievements.com/Xotic-xbox-360.htm, the latest release as I write these stats out on November 19th, is only showing 16 gamers.

Due to technical difficulties, WP7 titles will not be appearing on this week's charts. It's alright, no need to cry, they will return next week.

Games Completed
4,980 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 6,757 games between them (964 different games).

Dead Island (Xbox 360) has been either #1 or #2 on the "Top Retail Games Completed" chart for the last two months. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 manages to debut at #2 during its first week of eligibility, beating out Battlefield 3 in another category based off nothing but actual numbers.

Special attention must be paid to the unique case of NCIS. The latest point and click title based on a CBS procedural already has a 77.25% completion rate with a grand total, as of this writing, of 360 gamers having completed the adventure of digital Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

If you want easy points, look no further than NCIS.

Top Retail Games Completed

Last week's easy Gamerscore recommendation, Daytona USA, gets a moment in the sun by claiming the top spot. A World of Keflings is right behind on the strength of its recent DLC pack. Shinobi rounds out the non-Kinect portion of the top five, thanks more to a great sale than anything else.

The usual suspects finish off the top ten proving that, even in a slow week for the XBLA titles, Torchlight will be with us forever.

Top Arcade Games Completed

Achievements Won
78,037 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 1,061,161 achievements online between them (36,599 different achievements).

It's all Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, except for one lone Skyrim hold out, which magically has more winners then gamers that started the title this week. How does that happen you ask? Well, given the odd timing of Skyrim being released and the way that the scanners work, a discrepancy is to be expected.

That or a wizard did it.

No Limbo? The #1 arcade title holds no spots on this chart? Yet the #2, #3 and #5 titles do hold spots? When is the last time that happened?

Rhetorical question of course, as that has never happened before.

Total TrueAchievements won by Genre

One game can make an impact, one game can make a difference, one game can carry an entire genre on its back. I am of course referring to the Adventure genre placing thanks to NCIS.
