The Making of Risen 2 Part 1

Not much has been heard about Risen 2: Dark Waters since the release of the teaser trailer in August, but now Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes have released the first episode of a six part making-of series, that will become available over the next few months.

In this first episode the team from Piranha Bytes delve into the topic of “Creating Worlds”. Game Designers Michael Hoge and Björn Pankratz and Story Writer Jennifer Pankratz explain why they chose to expand on the world of pirates as the topic for their latest game. While Lead Programmer Philipp Krause explains why Piranha Bytes have used a terrain engine for the first time in one of their games and 3D Artist Sascha Henrichs illustrates the difficulties associated with a jungle setting.

Risen 2: Dark Waters is set to be released sometime in 2012.
