Journey Through Spec Ops: The Line

Almost a year has passed since the last mention of Yager Development's upcoming third person shooter Spec Ops: The Line, and that was a brief line in 2K's release schedule for 2011-2012. The months of silence have now been broken with a new trailer and a fair few screenshots on which you can feast your eyes.

Players assume the role of US Delta Force soldier Captain Walker who, alongside his team, has been assigned the rescue of a lost US Infantry squad. The last contact with the 33rd Squad came from Dubai, a city now ravaged by ferocious sandstorms. However, once Walker's team arrives, they find that the mission is far from a simple extraction.

The trailer may not have given you much of a clue in terms of gameplay. These screenshots will give you a little more insight:

Spec Ops: The Line is due to be released in Spring 2012.
