Following on from last week's Enhanced Battle System trailer, Square Enix have released the second in the series of gameplay videos highlighting the changes and improvements to Final Fantasy XIII-2 over its predecessor, Final Fantasy XIII. This new trailer, which focuses on environments, shows off some new locations, as well as some familiar areas from the first game that have been updated.
In an interview with Dengeki PlayStation [via Andriasang], Final Fantasy XIII-2's Producer Yoshinori Kitase, and Director Motomu Toriyama also announced a few other gameplay features that may pique the interest of fans. If you still happen to have a save file from Final Fantasy XIII you'll unlock some bonuses, including special monster decorations and a higher success rate at the game's gambling area. The game will also feature a 'New Game Plus' mode that adds exclusive unlockable items and monster decorations that are only available the second time through.
Don't forget, you can still check out all of our previous coverage for the game, as well as details on the North American and European Collector's Editions.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be released on January 31st, 2012 in North America and February 3rd, 2012 in Europe.
