Familiar Lionhead face Peter Molyneux announced Fable III at Microsoft’s Gamescom conference this morning. He also reavleled that the title is set for a later 2010 release."We've spent a lot of time at Lionhead thinking about how we can innovate the gameplay and progress the world of the Fable games for its third chapter, and we're confident that players won't second-guess what we have planned for Fable III. Though I can't give too much away right now, players should expect to have to make much tougher choices with far wider consequences than ever before in Albion—and with many more interactive adventure elements."
The game is apparently set 50 years after Fable II. The player will take the role of the son or daughter of our Fable II hero. Existing save data will be used to determine what kind of 'hero' your character will start as in Fable III. The story involves your hero seeing the world crumble around them and taking the front seat at making the changes needed. It’s up to you to control Albion and it’s people how you see fit.
Again, all your actions will affect how the world develops around you. Will you be a loved, compassionate leader? Or a feared, corrupt one?
Although the game is set in Albion, Molyneux revealed that this time it’s ’just one continent in a much larger world’. Although no further detail was given.
This time around, Molyneaux stated that character communication will be based on ‘touch‘ more than anything else. Giving the player options to ‘cuddle, reassure and embrace characters in the world and that it would help create a real sense of emotion by moving away from the traditional 'Press A Button' level of interaction.’.
A very brief teaser trailer was revealed with the news. Click the link below to check that out!
