Anarchy Reigns Delayed Once Again

When Platinum Games' was originally announced, the developer said that the game would be ready for a Holiday 2011 debut. Of course, as we all know, this holiday season was filled with AAA titles, so the decision was made to push the game back to early 2012. This release window was later confirmed when Anarchy Reign's publisher, Sega, revealed a January 2012 launch as part of its upcoming release schedule.

Unfortunately, the brawler has been hit with another delay, though at least we have specific release dates this time. Anarchy Reigns is now set to arrive on July 3rd, 2012 in the US, July 5th, 2012 in Australia, and July 6th, 2012 in Europe. Yes, you read that right. The game is now delayed until July.

Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Sega West, offered the following explanation for the delay:
ANARCHY REIGNS brings a new take to the brawler genre and we’ve decided to take a little more time to deliver the full knockout punch. I can’t reveal much now, but it’s something to do with scale. Let’s just say traditional one on one or two versus two fighters will be a thing of the past…
So, with those words now leaving you wondering what they have in store, go ahead and check out our previous coverage to ease the pain of a long (but ultimately necessary) delay.
