Release Date Confirmed for Choplifter HD

By Rebecca Smith, 7 years ago
The old Choplifter series last made an outing on the SNES back in 1994. In June 2009, a mere 15 years later, inXile Entertainment filed a trademark for Choplifter and starting rumours that they would be bringing a remake of the classic game to Xbox LIVE Arcade. These rumours weren't confirmed until nearly two years later, just before the start of this year's E3 event. The wait is nearly over though, as Choplifter HD has gone gold and been confirmed for release next month.

Players assume the role of a rescue pilot who faces the next step of his career with an elite helicopter rescue team. You'll be piloting a variety of helicopters over 20+ missions, which will range from extracting military prisoners to saving survivors of zombie outbreaks. All of our previous coverage of the game can be seen here if you'd like to view screenshots or trailers.

Choplifter HD is due to be released on January 11th, 2012. A price is yet to be confirmed.
