Wow. That is all I can say to describe this game. I really, really, really (did I say that enough?) love the visuals in this shoot 'em up. Still shots do not do this game's graphics justice; you really need to check them out in motion to get the full experience.
The basic concept is much like Galaga
: legions of enemies will work their way towards the bottom of the screen and the only means of stopping them is to shoot them. You are given ample power-ups to upgrade or change your weapon's fire-rate and type, as well as the ability to have some shields to help deflect the enemy fire.
To change things up a bit, you will encounter boss levels as you progress through the game and these play out much like you would expect. Bosses are able to soak up massive amounts of damage, so keeping a steady shot towards them as you dodge their return fire is a must.
While I didn't get to check out the four-player co-op, I must say the frantic graphics of single-player multiplied by four would generate one crazy display of pixels flying across your HDTV.Decimation X3
can be purchased for 80 MSP
