The Witcher 2 Gets a Release Date

Just about two weeks ago, CD Projekt Red revealed that, although The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings had suffered a delay into 2012, it was certainly turning out for the best, as they would be putting out an Enhanced Edition for a standard price.

Now, not only do we have exact details to share with you about the Enhanced Edition, but we also have a confirmed release date as well as details on the game's Special Edition.

Starting with the Enhanced Edition - not only will The Witcher 2 obviously be included, but it will also include a CD containing the Original Soundtrack for the game, a quest handbook, and a map of the game world. Not at all a bad package for the standard price of a game. Of course, as noted previously, the Enhanced Edition will also include extra quests that will add around four hours of gameplay to the core title.

If you don't mind spending the extra $20, however, you can get your hands on "The Dark Edition"
Dark Edition

In addition to coming with all that the Enhanced Edition includes, The Dark Edition will net you a 200-page art book, a wolf's head witcher medallion, and a couple stickers.

We also know that several different pre-order bonuses will be available at specific retailers, though details as to who will have what have not yet been released. Among the pre-order goodies that will be available are a Tress avatar outfit for female avatars, a Geralt avatar outfit for male avatars, a Drowner avatar pet, a wolf's head metal keychain, a wolf's head t-shirt, or a comic book.

Wondering when you can get your hands on all of this goodness? Here's a trailer released by CD Projekt Red to announce the release date:

The Witcher 2 will be available on April 17th in North America. Release dates for other regions have not yet been confirmed, but we'll bring them to you as soon as we have them.

Thanks to all the community members who sent this one in!
