Surely the title of this article has already caused the anti-online pass masses to collectively smile. Yes, the upcoming FPS reboot,, will not being using an online pass format for its multiplayer offerings.

Despite EA's policy of including online pass across their entire library of games, they decided to exclude it from Syndicate, sensing the competitive genre it is in, and knowing the added obstacle of using an online pass could be detrimental to the game's growth. Since the online modes are limited to four-player co-op and not competitive multiplayer, the game was allowed to ship without the almighty insert in the game's box.

Released alongside the announcement was a lot of new videos and screens of the sci-fi shooter. Some even highlight the co-op modes.

Syndicate is due out later this month; February 21st in North America and February 24th in Europe.
