In the time since Beenox took over exclusive development rights
, they've set aside the open world webslinging of Spider-Man games in favor of more linear stories. While Activision and many fans have liked the latest entries, there are still plenty of gamers who yearn for the days of scaling any building, answering 911 calls across the city, and all of the other elements the sandbox Spideys offered.
While neither the developer nor publisher has confirmed it yet, this new trailer seems to indicate that the movie tie-in, http://www.trueachievements.com/The-Amazing-SpiderMan-x....htm
, may be returning to the open world roots. The video does use some recycled footage, but what's new offers a glimpse at what looks like free-roaming around New York City.
What do you think? It could be free-roaming, or it could be a more contained level of webslinging along a set path. It's tough to say right now, but what do you want the game to be? Amazing Spider-Man
opens in May, so we expect the game out during that same time.
