Sleeping Dogs Awakens Some Story Elements

By Mark Delaney, 6 years ago
There's plenty of background information on United Front's Formerly intended to be True Crime: Hong Kong before Activision canned it, Square Enix has saved the game and rescheduled its release for the second half of this year. It's doubtful much gameplay was changed since the game changed publishers near its completion.

Your character is an undercover cop, in traditional True Crime fashion. Square Enix has also said the game is still an open-world title, but what kind of characters and story would fill that world was information we just didn't know yet.

This new story trailer delves into the world you'll be exploring. Bright lights. Gang violence. Fast cars. It's all here. Another interesting aspect of the trailer, which was previously seen in the live action announcement video, is the use of improvised weapons like lights, frying pans, and other items strewn across the environment. Could that be a gameplay feature? Let's hope so, and wait for confirmation.

Look for Sleeping Dogs later this year.
