Wreckateer Arriving Soon Exclusively for XBLA

By Keith Gray, 7 years ago
What do you get when you combine castles, rocks and a slingshot? Well, as you may have guessed, a fair amount of destruction. Those three things are set to come together in Wreckateer, a Kinect-controlled, XBLA-exclusive title.

In Wreckateer, gamers will basically be tasked with damaging and destroying as many castles as possible, with as few hits as possible. This will be done by loading a large slingshot, nee catapult, with rocks of varying sizes and attempting to turn the castles into piles of rubble. It may be that the above description does not give a clear enough picture of what to expect. Not to worry, as Iron Galaxy Studios' Dave Lang explains the inspiration behind their creation:

When we originally pitched it, we pitched as Angry Birds meets Boom Blox with some Burnout Crash Mode sprinkled in
The following announcement trailer shows the quirky art style and the implementation of Kinect controls in the forthcoming title.

As you probably spotted in the trailer, the castles will come in all shapes and sizes. Here's more evidence of the variety of different structures in a handful of brand-new screenshots.
