TA Gaming Stats - March 12th to March 18th, 2012

By Dog of Thunder, 6 years ago
I'm afraid that we lied slightly last week. Dog of Thunder was unable to return this week and will be absent for the forseeable future. I'm sure that he'll be missed. In the meantime, N0T PENNYS B0AT has kindly stepped in to fill the void this week.
Sorry for the delayed TA stats this week folks. You see, osubluejacket doesn't know how to swim and we had to pull him out of the sea of complaints about the https://www.trueachievements.com/Mass-Effect-3-xbox-360.htm ending. I told him he should have worn his floaties before posting that opinion piece! He nearly drowned. Speaking of Mass Effect 3, there's no surprise it stands at the top of the most games started list again. The list in general is pretty top heavy with new releases, but some of the fall's biggest games are still standing strong, too.

This report is for the period March 12th to March 18th, 2012.

Games Started
18,555 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 28,592 games between them (1,485 different games).

As of writing, over 31,000 TA gamers have started ME3, of which nearly 14,000 have played out the game's controversial ending. That's a lot of butthurt. Does anyone want to take bets on when this game will be overtaken for the first time? I wouldn't be surprised if ME3 remained on top until https://www.trueachievements.com/Max-Payne-3-xbox-360.htm, but I guess we'll have to see what Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City does to these numbers this weekend.

Top Retail Games Started

On the arcade front, I Am Alive took the second spot in favor of some quick and easy gamerscore from Voice Studio. You've got to love these free 50G apps.

Top Arcade Games Started

Not having a smart phone myself, I can't comment much on these titles. So I'll throw it back to the community. Are these top titles worth playing, or are they just the product of some sort of sale?

Top Windows Phone Games Started

Games Completed
5,928 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 8,409 games between them (1,042 different games).

Lots of gamers took to finishing up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which is, of course, because ELITE members got the two new Spec Ops missions and their new 160G. It would stand to reason that this game will be near the top next week as well after non-ELITES have gotten their hands on the DLC.

Top Retail Games Completed

Remember what I said about the easy achievements of Voice Studio? Yeah, that explains this list. About two-thirds of you who started the game this past week have finished it, which aligns properly with the game's 68% completion percentage on its info page.

Top Arcade Games Completed

The top started games on WP7 all met at a log jam for most completions this week; as you'll see, IonBallEX (WP) sits atop both by the skin of its teeth.

Top Windows Phone Games Completed

Achievements Won
54,859 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 691,223 achievements online between them (41,201 different achievements).

For the second straight week, the achievements won list is fully comprised of ME3 achievements. Most of these are from early on in the game as well, due to the 2,400+ that dove into Shepard's finale. How are you new guys liking it so far? Has anyone spoiled the ending for you yet?

Top Retail Achievements Won

Voice Studio and I Am Alive formed a formidable alliance to overtake the XBLA achievements won list, but new release Shoot Many Robots cracked the top ten thanks to gamers shooting "some" of those dastardly robots.

Top Arcade Achievements Won

Another list dominated by a dynamic duo as the top two Windows Phone games of the week complete this list. From the looks of it, Gerbil Physics (WP)' list is slightly easier. The title reminds me of the popular flash game Kitten Cannon. Does anyone know if they're similar?

Top Windows Phone Achievements Won

Total TrueAchievements won by Genre

For the second week, the top genre is Role-Playing, which isn't going to change anytime soon if you ask me. If Mass Effect 3 can survive until The Witcher 2 releases in a few weeks, the genre should sit pretty for a few more weeks after that.
