Life is filled with certain things that will happen regardless of anyone's actions: you are born, you pay taxes and you die. Somewhere along that timeline, you will also come across video games that tie into movies. In a move that will shock absolutely no one, we will be receiving the gift that is a Pixar tie-in video game this Summer! Following hot on the heels of Toy Story 3 and Cars 2, we have Brave: The Video Game.
Brave: The Video Game is based off of Brave and has nothing to do with Brave: A Warrior's Tale. Brave is an adventure movie following young Merida as she comes of age in ancient, patriarchal Scotland where she accidentally brings about chaos and doom for the land. With the help of her triplet brothers and an old witch, she attempts to reverse the curse and bring peace back to the land.
Brave: The Video Game is your standard 3rd-person action game that is "Better with Kinect", specifically when it comes to controlling Merida's bow and arrow. Confirmed modes include standard single-player, local co-op and "Bear mode". I want to take a moment, and peel back the curtain on gaming journalism. In the press release, it is actually spelled out for us that "Bear mode" involves playing as a bear. I understand there may be some confusion as "Horde mode" does not involve playing as a horde, but really? That barely beats out the information that the game will culminate in an epic final boss encounter to end the adventure as "least surprising news of all time."
Enjoy what is expected to be an easy retail completion this Summer, when Brave: The Video Game hits retail shelves.
