Early last week, it was confirmed
that private investment firm, OpCapita, had agreed a deal with Game Group's lenders to buy the group's UK business, saving the remaining 333 stores and thousands of jobs.
On Thursday the new owners eased the worries of many consumers by confirming to MCV
that over the coming weekend both Reward Cards and Gift Cards will be fully restored:
While our loyalty scheme and gift cards were suspended by the administrator during the period of administration last week, now that the business is under new ownership they are being reinstated in full this weekend.
They also went on to confirm that new stock will be arriving in stores over the coming weeks:
We’re also working hard to restock our stores, and there will be a much bigger range of products for customers to choose from in the next couple of weeks.
Both Reward Cards and Gift Cards were suspended
when the company entered administration on March 26th. Reward Cards were reinstated three days later, but with only limited functionality.
