Gears of War: Exile
, rumored to be an on-rails Kinect game, has been scrapped. Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski revealed to Gamespot
that the title did indeed exist, and in the same sentence announced its cancellation.
"Let's just bury the hatchet now, Gears of War: Exile was an unannounced game that I can't give any details about that has since been cancelled."
We’re still not sure if Exile
was indeed the Kinect title that it was rumored to be, and based off Bleszinski’s brief statement we may never know. The timeline behind Gears of War: Exile
began with a Gears
-related announcement promised for the 2010 Video Game Awards, but then plans for an announcement were later pushed back. Trademarks for Gears of War: Exile
accompanied by a logo were spotted in early 2011, with rumors later pointing to an unveiling at E3 2011. The gaming expo came and went with no Exile
announcement or details, and since then no new substantial rumors or speculation had surfaced.
