We were given a months notice, and now that month is up. Electronic Arts is shutting down the servers on select titles today, and here’s a reminder on what titles are affected:
- Burnout Revenge
- Create (Single Player online achievements)
- EA SPORTS Active 2
- The Godfather II (This has no online achievements)
- EA SPORTS MMA
- Need for Speed: ProStreet
- The Saboteur (This has no online achievements; only losing access to The Midnight Club)
- Spare Parts (Online not required for achievements)
Server closure on April 30th:
-Hasbro Family Game Night
Obviously, for some of these achievements you’ll be out of luck if you hadn’t started awhile ago. Others though only take a few minutes. For what it’s worth, those behind the Need for Speed series have been pulling some rabbits out of a hat in order for all of us to obtain some pesky achievements with a little more ease. This includes turning on Community Race Day 2 in Prostreet, and granting EA moderator status to several individuals to spread “Beat a Mod” achievements in both Prostreet and Need for Speed: Carbon. They were also successful in getting the Prostreet servers up and running again when they went out unexpectedly this past Monday. You might also remember that the XP was multiplied by twenty for the final month of EA Sports MMA.
Of course, to many of you this may be like putting a ribbon and bow on a pile of manure. Regardless, some of these measures taken this past month are definitely positive and noteworthy. The achievement community, including in large part the TA community, deserve a lot of the credit for some action being taken on these unobtainable achievements. Pat yourselves on the back, TA!
Go forth procrastinators and get some online achievements while you still can!
