South Park RPG Undergoes a Name Change

Obsidian's announcement of the upcoming South Park RPG was met with a lot of excited gamers and series fans alike. Of course, there's also a lot of overlap between those two sects of people, so the RPG seems like a great idea. Series heads Trey Parker and Matt Stone will be working closely on the game themselves, which has now been officially named as South Park: The Stick of Truth.

Story details are light at this time, so we can't be sure what the Stick of Truth is, but we do know that the entire purpose of the boys' epic quest across perilous battlefields of the quiet mountain town is to become cool. Yes, just cool. Not to be savior of their land, not to avenge past wrongs, they just want to be cool. Since when was LARPing cool? I'm betting that will be the punchline of some jokes in the game.

South Park: The Stick of Truth has an expected release window of the end of the year. It does seem like the holiday season is growing crowded every day, so don't be surprised if some titles opt out for a delayed release next spring instead. Hopefully for you South Park fans, this isn't one of them.
