We promised we would pass along the exact release date for Darksiders II
when we first revealed it was delayed until August
. We're following through on that, as THQ has confirmed it will release August 14th in North America, and presumably August 17th in Europe.
On another end of the spectrum, THQ declared plans of selling off the original IP Devil's Third
, a game we first heard about at E3 2010
. The action title is headed by Dead or Alive
and Ninja Gaiden
producer Tomonobu Itagaki, and was due to be released in Q1 2013
According to THQ, the game no longer fits its "profitability profile", so they are working with third parties in order pass it on to another publisher. With THQ's fragile financial state, they aren't at liberty to take unhealthy risks. The publisher cited development hiccups and the depreciation of the yen behind the lower profit margin outlook for the game. Hopefully the title will find success with a new home.Devil's Third
remains in Limbo, while Darksiders II
has a date in Hell.
