South Park: The Stick of Truth Delayed

By Mark Delaney, 6 years ago
It was only a week and a half ago that we learned the official title for the South Park RPG, and now we're been burdened with sharing the information with you that the game, like a few others recently, has been delayed until early next year.

THQ shared the information via a financial briefing, the same one where they reported on the developments of Darksiders II and Devil's Third. As their fiscal year runs April through March, the "Q4 FY2013" date for South Park: The Stick of Truth, in rich people's terms, means sometime early in 2013. THQ didn't cite any reasons for the delay. Maybe they wanted to get out of the crowded holiday window, or maybe they hit some roadblocks after the game's developer, Obsidian, recently went through some layoffs. Of course, it may also be both or even neither of these things.

You may remember that Tomb Raider and BioShock Infinite were also delayed until the same time frame. Save those gift cards you receive this December. Early next year, you'll have plenty to spend them on.
