Sometimes a game gets the little things right. Things most people overlook, but add to the overall feel the game is striving for. Dead Pixels is one of those titles. From the opening sequence that makes you feel like you are about to watch the start of a grindhouse movie feature, to the simulated film grain on the title sequences between levels, there are lots of little touches that made me smile along the way.

But the little touch that made me smile the most? Exploding the zombie sprites all over the screen as I made my way through the horde.

You can search un-barricaded buildings as you trek across the city in search of supplies to aid your quest. You also will find a few stray survivors shops left which give you an opportunity to upgrade your skills, buy new weapons, and most importantly sell off the items you do not need. You will need to sell items off, as you can over-encumber yourself to the point that you are walking zombie food.

Dead Pixels is a great title you should check out, and if the trial doesn't give you enough zombie slaughtering for your needs, you can unlock the full version for only 80 MSP.

If you have an Xbox Live Indie Game that you feel should be featured in an edition of the Indie Games Spotlight, please PM your suggestions to mancide.

When not enjoying video games, our fearless newshound enjoys an nice pint of fermented barley and hops in a variety of styles. India Pale Ales, Stouts, Porters, Witbiers, Saisons, Gose, Lambics, Barleywine, you name it. If it has water, malted barley, hops and yeast in it, I'll consume it. I also enjoy all things technological, Doctor Who, wrasslin, traveling, and spending time with my family.
