The arcade flight simulator, Combat Wings: The Great Battles of World War II
has just gotten a lot more arcadey. Announced in a press release today is the game's new name, Dogfight 1942
and new platform, Xbox LIVE Arcade. Originally intended for retail release, the game was reimagined mid-development, and will now certainly come with a much smaller price tag too.Dogfight 1942
will still offer over twenty different planes on a range of missions akin to those of real pilots, like bombing runs, defensive battles, and dogfights, but the controls and gameplay are meant to be attractive to anyone looking to pick up and play without the lengthy learning curve.Dogfight 1942
will be playable at E3 next week, with an Xbox LIVE demo to follow before the game releases later this year.
