Microsoft Announces New Entertainment Apps

Not content with sticking to game news, Microsoft has announced 35 new apps that they will be bringing to Xbox LIVE over the next year. Although this list is not complete, here are 31 of those apps, complete with the regions in which they will be available:

• Nickelodeon - US

• Picturebox - UK
• Quickflix - Australia, New Zealand
• Rakuten ShowTime - Japan
• Revision3 - Canada, UK, US
• Rhapsody - US
• RTL XL - Netherlands
• Slacker Radio - Canada, US

As well as the new apps, Microsoft is expanding the capabilities of Bing search. Voice commands can be used to look for user-generated content on Youtube. When searching for films, users will also be able to search for genres, such as comedy, drama, science fiction and action.

The thing that may please international readers the most though is that Bing voice search will be expanding to a further 12 countries in an additional six languages. This brings the tally to 15 countries and seven languages:
