During the Microsoft press conference, EA Sports showed off some of the new Kinect functionality that will be coming to the next addition to the FIFA franchise,, later this year.

During the EA press conference, a host of new gameplay announcements were made, along with details of how FIFA is becoming a football's social network "where fans connect, compete and share with millions of others around the world."

FIFA 13 Football Club has been expanded to allow you to earn rewards, level up, connect with friends and complete challenges based on real world events. Completing challenges and playing matches will reward you with "Fooball Club Credits" which can be spent in the new "Football Club Catalogue", with things like kits, Be a Pro celebrations and attribute boosts available to purchase.

There will be a new iOS app available where you can manage your Football Club and connect with friends on the go, as well as manage your Ultiamte Team squad and access the Ultimate Team transfer list to search auctions and bid on new players.

Finally the cover star of the game was also revealed as Lionel Messi.

The trailer below showcases a number of the promised improvements, including the new AI Attacking Intelligence and Complete Dribbling.

FIFA 13 will be kicking it's way on to retail shelves later this year.
