Yesterday's Microsoft press conference brought with it a few new game announcements, one of which was Signal Studios Ascend: Hand of Kul
. At the time there wasn't much in the way of gameplay and story details, only a new trailer and details that the game will be hitting XBLA and Windows Phone next year.
Now that the dust has settled, we've been treated to a host of new screenshots along with a new gamplay trailer and some further details of what the game will involve.
Ascend is a rich third-person action RPG at its heart. And it’s got a hell of a lot more going on under the hood, including a style of parallel multiplayer that’s never been done before on Xbox LIVE and a mobile experience that’s going to change the way you think about staying connected to your game.
Play with AND against other gamers over Xbox LIVE as you each journey through your own private yet parallel paths to Ascension. As you advance through your own single-player game, you’ll see other players adventuring in their own identical worlds.
Ascend offers a truly connected experience between mobile and console platforms. Wage war against other players directly from your mobile phone, rack up power and prestige, and transfer it all to your Xbox 360 console – anywhere, any time.
Ascend: New Gods
is scheduled for release in 2013.
