In West Philadelphia, drafted and trained; on the ice rink is where he spent most of his days...

After 24 million fan votes were tallied since the end of March, the cover vote for https://www.trueachievements.com/NHL-13-xbox-360.htm has been finalized and we have ourselves a winner. See him for yourself -- Philadelphia Flyers center, Claude Giroux.

Final cover 6/21/12

Giroux beat out Nashville's goalie, Pekka Rinne in the finals, who also had a very strong following of supporters, many of whom wanted to see a goalie grace the cover for the first time. In a statement from EA Sports, Giroux said this about his new position as coverboy:
The support fans have given me throughout the campaign has been unbelievable. I am very excited to be on the cover of NHL 13 and I want to thank everyone who campaigned and voted for me - especially my teammates, the Flyers organization, and of course all the NHL fans who voted and tweeted.
Here are several screens and a pair of videos to celebrate the announcement of the latest cover athlete:

Giroux 6

Giroux 5

Giroux 4

Giroux 3

Who did you vote for? Any Giroux or Rinne voters here? NHL 13 hits the rink on September 11th in North America and September 14th in Europe.
