While the Alan Wake 2 achievements were already pretty easy to complete, a new update for the survival horror Xbox game will make earning its 1,000G a breeze. The Alan Wake 2 Anniversary Update adds new gameplay options, such as invulnerability and infinite ammo, which do not disable achievements.

Alan Wake 2 free Anniversary Update detailed

It's been almost a year since the release of Alan Wake 2, and to celebrate, Remedy is rolling out a free update alongside the launch of The Lake House expansion on October 22 that includes several new features and improvements. According to the developer, the Anniversary Update brings the ability to invert the X axis on the mouse and controller, which it says has been highly requested by players. Along with some PlayStation-only improvements that we won't bother going over here, the update also adds a "Gameplay Assist menu," which you will be able to find in the gameplay options.

The Gameplay Assist menu allows you to enable options such as one-shot kill and player immortality. Remedy has confirmed that turning on any of these options will not disable Xbox achievements, so you'll be free to blitz through Alan Wake 2's achievement list with infinite flashlight batteries and infinite ammo. The full list of options Remedy has revealed so far is below:
  • Quick turn
  • Auto complete QTE
  • Button tapping to single tap
  • Weapon charging with taps
  • Healing items with taps
  • Lightshifter with taps
  • Player invulnerability
  • Player immortality
  • One shot kill
  • Infinite ammo
  • Infinite flashlight batteries
During the recent Xbox Partner Preview, Remedy not only confirmed an October 22 release date for Alan Wake 2's The Lake House DLC, but the developer also announced FBC: Firebreak, a new three-player co-op first-person shooter that's coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2025.
