Players returning to the Alan Wake 2 achievements for the new The Lake House expansion have been reporting issues with a buggy achievement. Thankfully, a workaround to get the Shape of a Man Xbox achievement to unlock has been found.

Workaround found for buggy Alan Wake 2 Lake House Xbox achievement

Alan Wake 2's Lake House DLC added ten new achievements to the survival horror game, and while nearly all of them are working correctly, the Shape of a Man achievement is causing headaches for players. To unlock this one, you need to "discover the fate of Rudolf Lane," which can be done by accessing a specific room on floor -2 with a level 3 security clearance card and watching the projection. Unfortunately, after completing the requirements, players report that the achievement doesn't unlock. However, a rather odd workaround has been discovered.

As per a comment from arenafighter on the Shape of a Man achievement guide, switching from Performance mode to Quality mode in Alan Wake 2, reloading a save, and watching the projection again should unlock the achievement.

We're not sure why this works (some speculate it has something to do with an enemy spawning at a slightly different time in Quality mode over Performance mode once the projection stops), but players who didn't unlock the achievement the first time around report that following this method and switching to Quality mode does the trick. If you're already playing on Quality mode, then in theory, the achievement should unlock without issue. Hopefully, Remedy will roll out a fix for the achievement soon, but in the meantime, it's probably worth giving this workaround a go.

Alongside the launch of The Lake House, Remedy rolled out a big update for Alan Wake 2 that added an 'assist menu,' making the game's achievements even easier to unlock.
