Assassin's Creed Shadows leak reveals an in-depth base-building system A new Assassin's Creed Shadows dev diary leak suggests we could have much more freedom when it comes to base-building than we've seen in earlier AC games.Heidi Nicholas Published 25 Sep 2024 FollowtopicsXbox Series X|SHeidi Nicholas While working our way through the Assassin's Creed Shadows achievements, it looks like we could also lose a good chunk of time to base-building, as a newly-leaked developer diary video shows off a more in-depth base-building system than we've seen yet.Assassin's Creed Shadows could go more in-depth with base-building than any other AC gameThe leaked video seems to be in the usual style of Ubisoft dev diaries, and while the original post by IGN China has been taken down, it's already up across the internet once again (thanks, Eurogamer). Interestingly, the video suggests we'll get a whole acre to work with when building our home base, with the option to place buildings, paths, and decorations according to a grid-based system. It already looks more detailed than the base-building options we've had so far, and if Shadows does implement this system, it would add an extra layer of personalisation to be able to decorate however you want rather than having fixed options to plonk things down.It remains to be seen as to when we might hear more about the next Assassin's Creed game, as Ubisoft recently cancelled its Tokyo Game Show 2024 broadcast without explanation, but in the meantime you can check out everything we know about Assassin's Creed Shadows for more info.More Assassin's Creed Shadows stories: Assassin's Creed Shadows: Release date, gameplay, & everything we know Assassin's Creed Shadows: four things that look amazing (and two we're not sure about) New Assassin's Creed Shadows gameplay trailer unveiled at Xbox Games Showcase Assassin's Creed Shadows coming to Xbox Series X|S in November Assassin's Creed Red to launch by March 31, 2025, Ubisoft confirms Xbox Series X|SXbox One Written by Heidi NicholasHeidi tends to lean towards indie games, RPGs, and open-world games on Xbox, and when not playing Disney Dreamlight Valley, happily installs every new wholesome game that appears on Xbox Game Pass, before diving back into favorites like The Witcher 3.
