I've been impatiently waiting to start collecting the Gori: Cuddly Carnage achievements since it was announced for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC in 2022. Now the wait is almost over, as Angry Demon Studio has announced the Gori: Cuddly Carnage Xbox release date, and we'll be diving into the "cuddly skate 'n' slash" game on August 29.

Gori: Cuddly Carnage Xbox release date revealed

From the moment I saw the Xbox announcement trailer for Gori: Cuddly Carnage, I knew this third-person action-adventure game would be the kind of mindless over-the-top fun I'd gel with. It follows a cat named Gori and his sentient potty-mouthed hoverboard F.R.A.N.K. as they slash their way through the Adorable Army — mutated "Ultra Pets" created by Cool-Toyz Inc which have destroyed humankind on Earth. It's a vibrant, blood-filled adventure full of adult humor and more gore than you can shake a stick at.

It's all a bit wacky, leading me to love everything about it, and after spending some time playing Gori: Cuddly Carnage at WASD last year, I was completely sold. The gameplay is fast-paced and fluid as you grind along rails and power slide along walls to increase your momentum to unleash hell on the rabid evil unicorns waiting to tear you apart. F.R.A.N.K. is equipped with razor blades and can be upgraded with tons of other weapons to murder your enemies in gory glory, making it a ton of fun to play. Throw in an awesome soundtrack and the neon-lit levels, and you've got yourself one high-octane ride. During my time with the game, I had a chance to take on a mutated jack-in-the-box, which threw in some creepy horror elements, as well as a great opportunity to test my newly learned skills.

I'll be jumping into Gori: Cuddly Carnage as soon as it launches on August 29. Will it have what it takes to join our list of the best action-adventure games on Xbox? We'll have to wait and see, but it's paws-ible.
