Players working through the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered achievements following the rollout of Update 2 earlier this month have noticed that a couple of Lara Croft pinup posters have been removed from The Lost Artifact expansion level, Sleeping with the Fishes.

Update 2 rolled out with a host of changes earlier this month, including a fix for Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered's last unobtainable achievement, but what the patch notes didn't mention was the removal of some spicy Lara Croft posters. As reported by Kotaku, a player on Reddit has spotted that the pinup posters of Lara Croft found in Tomb Raider 3's Sleeping with the Fishes level can no longer be seen when playing in remastered mode. They appear to still be visible when playing using the original graphics mode; however, leading players to question why Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics would censor the game a couple of months after its launch — you can see the before and after pics above, thanks to X user SmashJT.

Nothing official has been said about the posters' removal, but users commenting on the Reddit post suggest that they were visible before the rollout of Update 2. "I played this level a few days before the 2nd patch and they were there then (remastered graphics)," one user said.

Strangely, the posters were included in an official Tomb Raider blog post back in February. As you can imagine, players have criticized Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics for "censorship."

"Absolutely pathetic that someone could think something so harmless needed to be removed and even more so trying to hide it by making it an undocumented change," a user on Reddit said. "Shame on Aspyr and shame on Crystal Dynamics."

"Beyond not keeping their commitments, this censorship is ridiculous," a user said in our Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered forum. "Already any social network shows more. People who buy the game buy a remastered so everything must be there."

We'll let you know if Aspyr or Crystal Dynamics comments on the situation. For now, though, if you've finished with Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, take a look at our list of the best action-adventure games on Xbox.
