Exclusive: Xbox achievements revealed for Game Pass' Lightyear Frontier

It's a good day for Xbox Game Pass: the Lightyear Frontier Xbox achievements join the service today in Early Access, bringing a colorful mash-up of open-world exploration, farming, alien crops and animals, mech suits, and more, all set on a mysterious planet. It'll be our job to build up our home on this planet, starting from scratch and working up to create a flourishing homestead. Now, thanks to the lovely Frame Break team, we can exclusively reveal the Lightyear Frontier achievements, after Lightyear Frontier's long stint as one of our most anticipated upcoming Game Pass games!

Lightyear Frontiers achievements designed to avoid major grinding

Frame Break CEO Joakim Kopriva Hedström took us through Frame Break's process for the Lightyear Frontier achievements in more detail. "To design the achievements, we looked at what we normally do when we play Lightyear Frontier in our internal playtests, and thought about what we would want to feel rewarded for. Initially, we prioritised achievements that would be possible to get through normal gameplay progression, without the need for major grinding. Then we laid some focus on side content, so that players who engage with all of our gameplay loops will feel rewarded. Lastly, we wanted to include some fun ones that we hope will surprise and delight the players when they unlock them."

Hedström also confirmed that Lightyear Frontier might add more achievements during its Early Access journey. "Of course, since we are releasing into Early Access/Game Preview, we have the opportunity to continue adding new achievements down the road. We will keep a close eye on how our players engage with the game and see what opportunities emerge."

As for what makes for an ideal achievement list, Hedström has this to say: "I personally prefer a mix of progressive achievements you unlock through regular gameplay, some secret achievements to keep you curious, some challenge achievements to test your skills, and one or two unexpected achievements that acknowledge when you do something quirky."
