Players were keen to dive into the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 achievements after its release yesterday, especially since it was one of the biggest upcoming Game Pass games set for the end of 2024. However, it seems that popularity was partly responsible for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024's launch issues. Developer Asobo Studio has apologized for and explained the game's launch woes, and says it's "now bringing players in at a steady pace."

Asobo Studios is working to address Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024's launch issues

Microsoft Flight Sim 2024's launch was followed by reports of long loading times and other server-related and technical issues. Here on our own TrueAchievements forums, players ran into the same problems: endless loading, server issue warnings, and further difficulties when making it into the game, such as lagging and missing content.

Asobo Studios has shared an update post explaining the issues. "We have worked hard with our partners, including Asobo and others, to bring you an amazing sim experience. The excitement for the sim today has been overwhelming, but we encountered an issue with one of our services handling the new systems in the game like career mode and various missions. The server responsible for handling data requests got overloaded, causing delays and errors. As a result, players are experiencing long loading times and missing content like aircraft. We have solved the issues and are now bringing players in at a steady pace. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience."

Microsoft Flight Sim head Jorg Neumann elaborated on this in the update video above, saying, "we knew the excitement was high for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, but frankly we completely underestimated how high and it really has overwhelmed our infrastructure." Neumann continued, adding, "While it's a great launch day, we know everybody, a lot of people, are frustrated. We're really sorry, we want to apologize. This video — we made it because we want to... as you know we're always here, we want to be as transparent and as honest as possible, so yeah we have some problems today, the team is on it, and and then we will keep going."

Game Pass isn't slowing down after Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, as Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl joins the Game Pass library today.
