Joining Xbox Game Pass, or launching into the service as a day-one addition, always gives games a boost on our chart of the most popular Xbox games. This is clear with this week's chart as, now that Game Pass players can start hunting down the Diablo IV achievements, the game has rocketed up from 40th to seventh, hinting that it might yet join our list of the best Game Pass games.

Diablo IV leaps up gameplay chart after joining Game Pass

Once again, the top three of our gameplay chart of the most popular Xbox games — Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Minecraft — are refusing to budge. In fact, the top ten doesn't move at all until we get to Diablo at seventh. Further down, a small wave of games dropping down the chart is broken up by Evil West, which has made it to 17th after joining Game Pass late last month. Dead Island 2, an older Game Pass addition, is up to 19th.

Then we have Dragon's Dogma 2 at 20th following the RPG's recent launch, before more Game Pass additions begin cropping up and moving up the chart again: Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged at 22nd, The Quarry at 26th, and Lightyear Frontier at 30th. In-between those, we see older titles falling down the chart. Palworld has dropped a few more places to 23rd, but it's likely that'll change when Palworld's first raid arrives and brings players flooding back. Elden Ring has had a big drop from 18th to 27th, but that will definitely shoot straight back up the chart when the Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC arrives.

Other big RPGs are taking a tumble this week too, with Baldur's Gate 3 falling to 35th and Starfield to 37th. Fallout 76 reappears in the top 40 at 38th after dropping new Xbox achievements with a free update. There are only three new achievements tied to the Atlantic City - America's Playground update, so it's likely Fallout 76 will drop again once players have finished up with those. The top 40 finishes with The Finals, which has fallen eight places.
