Stardew Valley confirms Xbox release date for major 1.6 update

The wait is almost over for console players, as Stardew Valley's big 1.6 update at last has an Xbox release date set for November.

We'll have new Stardew Valley achievements to work through when Stardew Valley's next big update arrives, and there's not long to wait, either, as creator Eric Barone has now confirmed the release date for Stardew Valley's 1.6 update. The update arrives for Xbox on November 4, adding a whole lot of new content to what is already one of the best Xbox Game Pass games out there.

When the 1.6 update arrives for Stardew Valley, it'll add new festivals and events, a new Meadowlands farm type, a mastery system, new dialogue, and a whole lot more, including new achievements.

It's not unusual for console players to have a bit of an extra wait for updates, but on the plus side, the quality of all the new content added to Stardew Valley makes it worth the wait. ConcernedApe commented on the delay last month, saying, "Console and mobile ports are still in progress. I acknowledge that they are taking a long time. There are reasons for this, but the bottom line is that they are not out yet, we are still working on them, and they have been our primary focus since 1.6 came out for PC. It would be a huge relief to me if they were ready today, but they aren't, so all we can do is continue working on them until they are ready. I have not touched Haunted Chocolatier in a long time because I am committed to finalizing Stardew 1.6 first. To those who are frustrated or even angry about the timeline, I understand and accept full responsibility. To those who are patient and understanding, thank you, you make life better and reduce stress, and I appreciate it. Back to work."

What's more, the most recent Stardew Valley blog confirms that ConcernedApe "would like to finish Haunted Chocolatier next," so perhaps we can look forward to hearing more about the "big, ambitious vision" ConcernedApe has for his next game. So far, we know Haunted Chocolatier will be an RPG/simulation game about a chocolate shop, a haunted castle, and a new town to explore.
