What Xbox Game Pass games could leave in April 2024?

To help you plan your achievement-hunting efforts, we've pored through some data to bring you a list of games that might leave Xbox Game Pass in April 2024.

It's no secret now that most games don't stay in Xbox Game Pass forever — even the best Game Pass games drop out eventually. Most titles will stick around in the service for periods of 12, 18, 24, and occasionally 36 months or longer before they're removed. To help you plan out your gaming time, we've gone through our data to bring you a list of games that could leave Xbox Game Pass in April 2024.

12 months

The Last Case of Benedict Fox xbox achievements

Many games that join Game Pass tend to leave the service after a year. All of the games listed below were added to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass in April 2023, which means some of them could soon be removed.

Homestead Arcana (Completion est: 20-25 hours)
Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus and Butterfly (Completion est: 8-10 hours)
Loop Hero (Completion est: 40-50 hours)
Goat Simulator (Base list completion est: 4-5 hours)
Goat Simulator (Windows) (Base list completion est: 3-4 hours)
Everspace 2 (Completion est: 60-80 hours)

In April, we could see excellent games such as Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus and Butterfly and Cassette Beasts leave Game Pass. Everspace 2 is a bit of an odd one as the PC version joined PC Game Pass in April 2023, but the console version warped into Xbox Game Pass four months later in August, so we're not too sure what date to go on here. Either way, we've included the open-world spaceship shooter on the list, just in case.

18 months

We also sometimes see games leave Xbox Game Pass after 18 months — this has happened recently with Garden Story, Disc Room, and Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered. The games listed below joined the service back in October 2022.

Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery (Completion est: 2-3 hours)
Soma (Completion est: 6-8 hours)
A Plague Tale: Requiem (Completion est: 20-25 hours)
Scorn (Completion est: 5-6 hours)
Chivalry 2 (Completion est: 40-50 hours)
Medieval Dynasty (Completion est: 60-80 hours)
Medieval Dynasty (Xbox One) (Completion est: 60-80 hours)
Dyson Sphere Program (Windows) (Completion est: 200-300 hours)

While Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery did join PC Game Pass in October 2022, the console version of the game only came to Xbox Game Pass in October last year, so it seems unlikely this one will leave. It also seems unlikely that A Plague Tale: Requiem will leave, considering the last A Plague Tale game hung around in the service for just over two-and-a-half years before getting the boot. Medieval Dynasty is also one of those strange games that technically joined the service twice: the Xbox Series X|S version joined in October 2022, whereas the Xbox One stack came to the service in April 2023.

24 months

It's also usual to see games leave Game Pass after a period of 24 months. Here are all the titles that still remain in Game Pass after joining two years ago.

7 Days to Die (Completion est: 150-200 hours)
7 Days to Die (Windows) (Completion est: 25-30 hours)
Research and Destroy (Completion est: 20-25 hours)
Cricket 22 (Completion est: 15-20 hours)

Cricket 22 seems like it could be soon bowled out of Game Pass. In October last year, Big Ant Studios released Cricket 24, so we could maybe see Cricket 22 switched out for this newer iteration.

36 months

Next, we have the games (or game in this case) that have now been in Xbox Game Pass for 36 months. It's possible that Zombie Army 4: Dead War's time in the service could be coming to an end.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War (Base list completion est: 30-35 hours)

If you are interested in going for the Zombie Army 4 completion, the base list should take you around 35 hours. However, the game does have a whopping 18 DLC packs and title updates that you'll also need to work through if you want the Zombie Army 4's full 1,210G.

60 months

Now we come onto games that have been in the service for a whopping five years. Just one game remains in Game Pass after joining 60 months ago.

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier (Completion est: 5-10 hours)

While the console version of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier joined Xbox Game Pass back in April 2019, the PC Game Pass version was supposed to have been added in November 2022, but there were some strange complications with that version, and it never actually made it into the service. We have yet to see a Walking Dead Telltale game leave the service, so it seems unlikely that A New Frontier will drop out next month.

You may have also noticed that we've skipped over games that joined Game Pass 48 months ago in this month's article. Only one game remains in the service (outside of first-party Xbox games) that came to Game Pass in April 2020, and that is Totally Reliable Delivery Service. We've not included the open-world party game here, as it was only recently added to Xbox Game Pass Core, so it seems unlikely that it will leave any time soon.

72 months

Finally, we come onto the Xbox Game Pass faithful. The games listed below joined the service way back in April 2018 and are still in the service today.

Cities: Skylines (Base list Completion est: 150-200 hours)
theHunter: Call of the Wild (Base list Completion est: 120-150 hours)

Cities: Skylines has a weird history with Game Pass. It first joined Game Pass back in April 2018 before leaving in April 2020. It was then added back into the service a month later, so it's possible this version of the game could leave in April or May this year.
