Most popular Xbox games — Ark: Survival Ascended ascends right back into top 20

Our latest gameplay chart of the most popular Xbox games shows Ark: Survival Ascended roaring straight back into the top 20 after joining Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox Game Pass once again proves its power to revive titles back into our chart of the most popular Xbox games. This time, it's Ark: Survival Ascended, which proved not to be an April fools joke, but did indeed join the service on April 1, giving Game Pass subscribers the chance to try hunting down the Ark: Survival Ascended achievements, and propelling itself into the top 20. Diablo 4, another previous highly-anticipated addition from our list of upcoming Game Pass games, has moved up another spot from seventh to sixth. Here is the top 40 Xbox Gameplay Chart for the week ending April 7, 2024.

Ark: Survival Ascended jumps back into top 20

The top three of our gameplay chart — Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Minecraft — is as unmoveable this week as ever, and aside from a few games moving up or down, everything else has stuck fast at the same place as last week, until we get to Ark: Survival Ascended at 16th. It's booted Madden NFL 24 down a spot, but the next big change is another recent Game Pass addition: Lego 2K Drive, which makes its first appearance in the 40 at 21st after joining the service last week. Palworld has moved up one spot to 22nd; not a major change, but it'll undoubtedly rocket up once Palworld's next major Xbox update arrives with a new raid boss, new buildings and items, and more.

Dead Island 2, meanwhile, has had a bit of a drop, falling from 19th to 23rd, but soon after we have another new appearance with Superhot: Mind Control Delete, which makes its first appearance at 26th after, you guessed it, joining Game Pass last week. However, the Game Pass boost doesn't always last long — Evil West joined the service almost three weeks ago, and has now fallen 12 spots, presumably as more players move onto other things. The same is true of Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged, which has dropped ten places to 32 after joining Game Pass almost two weeks ago. Then we come to EA Sports PGA Tour, which appears at 34th following its Game Pass addition last week. This week, it's Fallout 76 clinging on at 40th after having dropped two places.
