After spending almost two years on PC, turn-based RPG King Arthur: Knight's Tale will finally bring its retelling of Arthurian mythology to Xbox Series X|S on February 22, 2024. Its arrival on the platform will follow the game's free 2.0 update, and NeocoreGames has confirmed that the upcoming Legion IX expansion will also come to consoles.

NeocoreGames announced that King Arthur: Knight's Tale would be coming to Xbox Series X|S back in 2020, but while it launched on PC via Steam in April 2022, its console port was delayed. Now the developer has said that we'll finally get to play it in just a couple of months' time, along with the rebalancing, new skills, and quality-of-life improvements included in the free 2.0 update which rolls out on PC this December. The update will also introduce a fresh Season to the game, Rising Eclipse, but whether that will be included in the Xbox release is still unclear.

It was also unclear whether we'd be able to play the recently announced Legion IX expansion when it launches next year, as the cinematic reveal trailer only shows Steam as a platform. However, NeocoreGames has now confirmed that King Arthur: Legion IX will also launch on Xbox Series X|S. The expansion sounds like it'll contain a robust amount of content, including new heroes, enemies, and combat mechanics.

Experience a unique hybrid between turn-based tactical games and traditional, character-centric RPGs! This dark fantasy version of the Arthurian mythology invites you to manage a team of heroes on the dangerous battlefield, while also engaging in moral choices, hero management, and the rebuilding of Camelot.
We'll look forward to seeing if King Arthur: Knight's Tale has what it takes to join our list of the best Xbox RPG games when it launches on Xbox Series X|S next year. Looking at the game's Steam page, it has earned a Very Positive rating on the platform from over 2,500 players, so we're optimistic that it'll be a good addition to Xbox's RPG genre.

If you're unfamiliar with NeocoreGames, the developer is behind a number of RPG games on Xbox, including The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing trilogy, World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap, and Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor.
