Vote now for June 2021's TA Playlist game

By The TA Playlist Team,
As you begin to explore the humorous little world of Underground in this month’s TA Playlist game, Undertale, the time has come to choose the TA Playlist game for June.

Earlier this month, 74 more games were added to the Xbox FPS boost list — games that have had their frame rates boosted for the Xbox Series X|S. We’ve selected four games from the list of 97 that currently support the new feature.

Without further ado, here are our nominations:

Far Cry 5

The Cult

Far Cry 5 is an open-world first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and was released on console back in 2018.

In Far Cry 5, you play as an unnamed deputy sheriff who gets trapped in Hope County, a fictional region deep in the heart of Montana in the United States. The main story revolves around the Project at Eden's Gate, a cult that has taken over the county at the command of its charismatic and resourceful leader, Joseph Seed. You must work alongside factions of resistance within the region to liberate the county from the chaotic cult that rule with an iron fist.

Looking at the achievements, the vast majority of the base game is achievable in the solo campaign. However, those with the highest ratio, such as Arcade Hunter and Arcade Competitor require kills in arcade multiplayer, which will take a little longer to get.

Far Cry 5 has a community rating of 4.24/5.00 on TA, having been started by 169,606 site users and completed by 3% of that number (5581 people to be exact!). It takes an average of 40-50 hours to complete, excluding any DLC. In order to benefit from the FPS Boost, you’ll need to enable it in the settings for Far Cry 5; see the linked news article above for details.

Watch_Dogs 2

Trailer Clips 26-Oct

Watch_Dogs 2 is an open-world third-person shooter/action game. It’s also developed by Ubisoft Montreal and originally released back in 2016.

Watch_Dogs 2 is slightly more optimistic and vibrant than its predecessor, as you take on the role of Marcus Holloway, a hacker who is punished for a crime he did not commit, having been targeted by the latest version of the Central Operating System, ctOS 2.0 (a system connecting all technology together) and its corrupt creators, the Blume company. To fight back, Marcus joins the hacking group DedSec, and a virtual war ensues.

Turning towards the achievements, the majority of them shouldn’t cause too many issues, with a decent number of them being story related. Some of the higher ratio achievements are entirely miscellaneous and range from the cute, such as petting 10 dogs, to the gross, such as taking a picture of someone vomiting. There are also a couple related to the expanded multiplayer element from the previous game.

Watch_Dogs 2 is currently sitting at a very decent rating of 4.14/5.00, having been started by just over 118,000 tracked users. Just over 7,000 of you have completed the game so far, which equates to roughly 6%.
According to our site estimates, you can beat the game in 40-50 hours, excluding any DLC.

Fallout 4

Fallout 4 is an open-world, action-RPG game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and was released in November 2015.

Many of you will know the premise of the Fallout series of games, and Fallout 4 is no different. You play as the ‘Sole Survivor’, who emerges from Vault 111 after a long-term cryogenic stasis, during which you see your spouse murdered and your child kidnapped. You leave the vault and find your old town, and the rest of the area (the former city of Boston and the surrounding areas of Massachusetts) has become a nuclear wasteland. Fallout 4 is set 10 years after the events of Fallout 3 and 210 years after the Great War, and it’s up to you to venture into The Commonwealth to survive, build settlements and ultimately to find your missing kid.

Looking at the achievements, there are plenty of story-related achievements. However, a number of these are missable, depending on your choices during the game. Multiple save points will be your most effective tool here. Some of the higher ratio achievements in the base game are related to reverse pickpocketing a mine or grenade onto someone and collecting all 20 Vault-Tec bobbleheads.

Fallout 4 currently holds a respectable score of 4.51 out of 5.00 on TA. It’s been started by just over a massive 323,000 TA users and has been completed by a mere 5% of that number (just under 17,000). They’ve suggested that it’ll take 80-100 hours for you to get the completion, excluding DLC, making it one of the longest nominated games this month. If Fallout 4 wins, you can play either the Win 10 or Xbox version; popping an achievement in either game will count. It is also available on Xbox Game Pass. In order to benefit from the FPS Boost, you’ll need to enable it in the settings for Fallout 4; see the linked news article above for details.

Dishonored - Definitive Edition

Definitive 7/24/15 Screen 13

The final choice for next month is Dishonored Definitive Edition, a stealth game developed by Arkane Studios and released in August 2015 (although the original 360 release was way back in 2012).

You play as Corvo Attano, the royal bodyguard of Empress of the Isles Jessamine Kaldwin. Set in the fictional, plague-ridden industrial city of Dunwall, Corvo was sent away to find a cure for the plague, only to be framed for her murder upon his return. He is freed from imprisonment by the mysterious Outsider, a god-like being, and given mystical powers to help him seek revenge on those who conspired against him and to ultimately help find Jessamine’s daughter, the rightful Empress Emily Kaldwin.

Looking at the achievements, you’ll need at least a couple of runs through the whole game in order to unlock everything. You’ll have to play through once killing freely and creating chaos, then again in low chaos. The low chaos run can be combined with a few other restrictions, too, such as completing the game without killing anyone or alerting anyone. This is without taking the achievement from the original DLC, such as the Brigmore Witches and the Knife of Dunwall.

Dishonored currently has a rating of 4.33 out of 5.00 here on TA. Of the just under 52,000 of you that have started this game, with only 386 people having so far completed it. The game itself should take you an estimated 80-100 hours to complete. Dishonored is also available on Xbox Games Pass.

The TA Playlist is a monthly community event. Everyone votes on which of four games to play, and then we all play through it in the following month. There's a dedicated hub to discuss everything about the game, from story beats to gameplay tips – and of course, you can track your achievement progress during the month as well. TA Playlist was created by Mark Delaney and is now run by Miles, Nici and Chewie.
