Icebreaker Achievement/Trophy Guide

To earn this achievement/trophy you will first need to unlock the "Cryo Beam" skill from the tech tree. You will start to earn skill points during the first mission so the achievement/trophy can be earned on this level if you so choose.

To actually earn this however, you must play on normal difficulty or above as enemies will die before they freeze if you play any lower. Using the Cryo Beam, freeze an enemy then perform a Omni-Slam by pressing cn_A or X to jump into the air and melee with cn_Y or Triangle.

As long as you are near the body when you do it you will shatter the enemy. The best place to do this is after meeting Alec Ryder in the first mission.

If your misplaced your skills, you can always respec in the Med Bay on the Tempest.

Here is a video guide showcasing myself unlocking the achivement.
Fuzzmeister J This works just fine with cryo ammo and squad mates freezing the enemies. They can be frozen by any means. You just need to be the one to smash them. No need for buying skills you don't want.

ICE Faux Pirate Like Fuzzmeister said, Cryo ammo works. There are also melee weapons that freeze enemies and cryo canisters (environmental items) that also work.

Erwo the Elder Just wanted to add that I got it with my cryo melee tool it froze them and then I jumped and melee'd them again and got the achievement. It sounds like whatever method that freezes them is good.

wolfzero01 can also confirm you don't need to unlock the cryo beam skill, I got it during the area where you need to protect your father in the first misson, one of my squad mates had frozen an enemy, I jumped and melee'd him and got the achievement. also I did this on casual, so its not necessary to do it on normal or higher

Kennyannydenny I used the cryo ammo upgrade of Cora. She shoots an enemy with her shotgun, they get frozen almost instantly. Just melee and done. Easy as pie.

Arador I got it on casual, but I'm also level 50 and on Elaaden so enemies are tougher
