There are 5 phases to this boss that repeats three times. I made up names for the phases.

PHASE 1 - "CIRCLES"

Jinx casts a ring that expands for the entire floor 3-4 times. Jump to avoid.

PHASE 2 - "EYE LASER"

The floor tiles raises to different levels and the boss shoots lasers out of his eyes. Double jump around to avoid.

PHASE 3 - "FIRE STORM"

Two walls raises at the left and right hand sides and shoots fireballs in preset patterns. It is however random which pattern you get. Look for larger clear areas and jump / double jump to them.

On top of the fire the floor will move during this phase but if you focus on avoiding the fire it's easy enough to jump to places where there are tiles. Try to stay in the center of the platform as much as possible.

During the third round it helped me to turn the camera to another angle to easier see the clear spots but the change of perspective might make it harder. That's up to you.

PHASE 4 - "LABYRINTH"

Walls will be raised and a red orb spawns on one of the tiles. The orb will explode if you don't hit it in time costing you one heart. On the other hand if you hit the orb it will be launched towards Jinx and hurt him.

Should you fail to hit the orb and if you don't die you will go back to the previous phase for another round of fire.

Position yourself on the "dot" between the intersection of four squares. See where I position myself in the video - you will pushed on top of the walls if you do it right and it will be faster to jump to where the orbs spawn (as opposed to actually running through the labyrinth).

Hit Jinx with three red orbs to defeat him.

PHASE 5 - "CRITTERS"

Two bees and a maggot or a fire golem will spawn. Each one of these gives you one full heart as you kill them so if you get hit during any other phases this is your chance to heal.

vegansoundThanks very much, Sodernaut, and for many reasons.

I had hard times beating the second wave of 'CRITTERS', mostly because I couldn't see where exactly the red bees were. Each time I jumped to crash them from above, I got hurt because of bad distance evaluation. While only hitting them with our tail was enough...

Then the 'LABYRINTH', with your '"dot" between the intersection of four squares' method. That's genius!
But just a precision, if we choose to walk to the bomb: if we think we'll not be able to hit it in time, stay far away from the bomb, so it won't hurt you when it explodes.

I still never understood the last fire balls paterns, so luckily we have 3 hearts, because that's THE hard part of the boss, being able to be hit twice is great because with only one heart that's pretty difficult.

SodernautThanks! The red bees can be simply hit so you don”t have to jump on top of them, I think I do so in the video :)

Yeah third wave of fire balls was where I died most of the time ... xD

action framptonThis guy is a huge pain in the arse. Still haven't been able to beat him on account of the 3rd fire wave, which seems to want to fuck with me constantly. Completely out of keeping with the rest of the game, which is to be expected I suppose...

FloriDUH JBotThis level is so unbelievably janky.

I beat Cuphead, yet this boss took me longer to beat than any boss that I encountered in all of Cuphead. Speaks volumes to the quality of level design between the two games.

Add Super Lucky's Tale to the likes of games such as Luigi's Mansion ... games that were really enjoyable to play, but where the final boss fight is so poorly implemented that it just crushes your overall opinion of the game.

jdogbitsPHEW as long as I am not the only person having an extremely difficult time with this boss ! Between the glitches and bad depth perception in this game this boss is pretty tough first 2 sets of phases no problem after that the unpolishedness of this game start to shine

MathGuy42Ugh. I am stuck on Phase 3 and I am so tired of doing Phase 1 and 2 over and over again. This battle needs some checkpoints. The best I've done is get to the Fire Storm with 2 hearts. It's so hard to see where to safely jump and half the time the floor pulls me right into a fireball.

I keep forgetting to try the camera change. Hopefully that will help.

Last achievement I need. I'll be glad to be done with this game. It wasn't the relaxing platformer I was expecting.

MathGuy42Finally beat him. Here are a couple suggestions for Phase 3.

Circles - Try to single jump. You need to be able to do another single jump quickly depending on where the circles appear. Unfortunately, this is a rather random part.

Fire Storm - There are two patterns. One pattern has groups of two fireballs marching down the middle. Unfortunately, I never mastered that pattern.

But the 2nd pattern is very easy if done correctly. There are no fireballs in the middle. You don't have to jump. The only issue is having the floor pull or rotate you into a fireball.
1. Start in the middle.
2. Then move one square right. Wait for the center column to shift.
3. Move back to the middle, as centered as possible. Wait for the entire floor to rotate around you. You should not get hit.
4. Move one square left. Wait for the center column to shift again.
5. Move back to the middle, as centered as possible. You are now home free!

Don't choke at the 3rd Labyrinth because you're too excited. That may have happened to me. smile At least I knew I could get it done. It still took several more tries. I never did master the 3rd eyebeams.

Andre'For a game that's being marketed to children, this has to be one of the most difficulty final bosses.

iMaginaryyI'm sure I'll find out soon enough, but this is really the sort of thing that should be mentioned (still a great guide +1) I assume you can continue after beating the boss to clean up clovers and such if you desire? i.e. is there a "point of no return"?
Posted by iMaginaryy on 05 Mar 18 at 02:47
SodernautYou can continue, yes =)

NegativeCreep08Ironic achievement name given it feels like pure luck whether you'll be able to avoid his attacks or land where you wanted to. At least I can take solace in the fact I'm not the only one wondering why I can't beat a game aimed at children.

MathGuy42The latest update made this fight easier. I know that the final fireball patterns have changed, with more openings to jump into. Perhaps there are other changes that are less perceptible. After barely beating him once before the update, I've beaten him twice afterwards without too much trouble.

erod550+1 for the tip about standing on the corner of 4 blocks when the walls come up. Messed up so many runs on the 2nd labyrinth phase with unlucky spawn placements and beat him first try doing this. For the second time, cause I didn't do the stupid watch the credits achievement the first time I beat him.

oONeonDemonOo+1 same as erod550!! Only way i failed was because of the stupid labyrinth. Thx again

ALoneWolf42I got this after about ~8 hours. By this point in the game I had ~7300 metres and almost $14,000.
