Note: I've heard from some sources that this will only work on earlier versions of the disc. I can't confirm or deny it, but if you don't get the achievement, that may be a reason. I have the version that in the guitar bundle, and it worked for me.

Only the lead controller will get this achievement. That being said, 44 songs is a lot for two people to play twice. Also, since you can't get this online, it's can be a bit of a pain to find someone willing to come over to do it.

The good news is that you can get this by yourself.

First, clear your cache. (My Xbox => Memory => Hard Drive, press Y for options, and clear the cache.) All this does is delete your game updates, it doesn't touch your game saves or gamer data. So yes, when you play other games later, you'll have to update them to play them.

You have to clear the cache first because later updates have kept the No Fail cheat from letting you get this achievement.

Second, turn on the No Fail cheat code. Go to Options, Cheats, and enter the following: GR, B, GR, GY, B, GY, RY, O, RY, GY, Y, GY, GR.

Third, set up your two guitars. In fact, you don't even need guitars. Regular controllers will work. Your main tag should be player one (just in case... I'm not sure). Since you're going for the Back Up Hero, make sure that you play EVERY song on bass/rhythm.

Fourth, just go through every song on the list. You don't have to play, just keep pressing the green button to go on to the next song. You also have to play all the songs after the career. You don't need to play the bonus songs, but you do need to play all the unlocked songs.

Fifth, you must turn off the No Fail cheat, and go back into co-op mode. Fail the first song (which lets the game know that the cheats are off). Since all the other songs are complete, it will pop.

Sixth, profit!

Edit: I'm including a link to a video that shows that you don't need to play any of the songs, and all the songs have no score. All credit to d1mebagdarrell, who posted the video.

Edit 2: Per Disturbed 360a, you can get the achievement if you do it all on one sitting, even if it doesn't let you overwrite your save. Thanks for testing that out!
N0RRl5is there any way to type in cheats with the controllers because ive tryed and it didnt work. anyone know?

SashamorningI don't know for sure, but I would think you need to strum. I could be wrong.

DrSchlepensteinJust think you should add this as a note to your solution. Since this glitch will not work for everyone. In order for this to work, you need to have the original version of GH3. The updates were added to the disk during later releases, so even if you delete the cache, you're not going back to the original version of the game. If you go to the options screen, it will tell you in the lower left corner which version you have (V2, V3), its in the black area just under the cheats option. For this trick to work, no version should be displayed.

I personally have a V2 copy (was a game/guitar bundle). So the no fail trick doesn't work for me.

Maka91Can you switch it to lefty and get "Hendrix Reborn"? And are you supposed to do the songs in quickplay or career?

SashamorningI would assume you could do lefty... that's a great idea. I don't think it has to be career... it says play all the songs. I think I did them separately.

Disturbed XBADue to not being connected to xbox live I cannot overwrite my data. Will I still get the achievement if I do all of the songs in one sitting?
Posted by Disturbed XBA on 22 Jul 11 at 00:58
SashamorningI was able to get it by doing it all in one sitting, so I would expect that you would.

Disturbed XBAWhy can I not overwrite my data this is what I don't understand. If you cannot save then you would have to do it all in one sitting, right?

SashamorningI don't know why you can't overwrite your data. :-( I assume that if you can't save, then you would have to do it in one sitting.

Disturbed XBAI am going to test the lefty idea when I get a chance and I'll get back to you. I would also like to add that if you cannot overwrite your data continuing as long as you do it in one sitting will still net you the achievements. Perhpas you could add this to the solution? Either way, positive vote. Never would have gotten these without this guide!

x BumbleBeeeCan anybody confirm if you can get this achievement or not if you have a V2/V3 copy of the game please? Thanks

TP5xNightmareWay late to the discussion but I can in fact confirm that you can't use this method with V2 or later copies of the game. I have two different copies, an original that came with the guitar controller and one I got later for my other xbox, and the later one fails every time even with following all steps listed above, and the V1 works find. So yeah, if you have a later version I doubt this will work for you.

NighthawkJoVAnswered my own question: YES, you can go back online, download the update and THEN fail a song to get Back Up Hero/Guitar Wizard and That's What Friends Are For so they show up as online achievements.
