When going for the Wrecking Ball achievement, I recommend you use these settings:

Mode: Total Chaos
Map: Complex
Weapon: Thermobaric Rocket
Building Collapse: High
Barrels: On

Players, Backpack, and Rounds to Win are insignificant.

Right when the game starts, immediately begin shooting rockets at the nearest building, aim at the lowest level to get the most points. You can easily rack up to 100,000 to 150,000 every round.

Every players score counts towards this achievement.
KACG FeaRIf you use 2 people or however many people do the poinnts count for every person you use? Like if you use 2 people and get 100,000 points each does that mean you get 200,000 or just one persons score?

YinYes, every player will count towards the achievements as no other profiles are required to sign in on the entry of the wrecking crew mode.

KACG FeaROk thank you

itjustgotcoIdi find it best to use the tremor backpack with this setting, easily increases total score per round per person by 30k and up

YinIt doesn't matter what backpack is used if using the thermobaric rocket...

GoukensamaYou seem to rack up a higher score from the buildings collapsing under their own weight than from blowing them up directly. I use the regular rocket launcher on Complex and my average destruction in 1 minute is a 150-180000 while I only seem to be able to get 120-150000 with the Thermabaric rockets.
Posted by Goukensama on 21 Jun 09 at 17:07
YinI was able to obtain to over 180,000 using the current method. I simply posted that you could easily score within that range.
Posted by Yin on 21 Jun 09 at 17:12
xR4Z0R713xThe regular rocket launcher worked WAY better than the thermobaric rocket. I got over 200,000 ten times using the regular rocket.

Dreadn0ghtYou can use the nano rifle as well as i was averaging around 160-200000 easily

MUTANDlSDon't use the thermobaric rocket...

Yin@Dreadn0ght In one minute?

splicegraphI assume this is accumulative, where can you see your totals? The leaderboard for this is messed up, it shows no score for me in Complex.

Heaven In Vaini cant believe this achievement is worth so much, its not that hard to get.it took me like four hours to get this achievement

YinA very boring grind.

ERIKDOTCOMSo, does this cover all of your Wrecking Ball games? You don't have to get it in one match?
Posted by ERIKDOTCOM on 18 Sep 09 at 22:03
YinNope, its impossible to get that many points in a single game. Its a combination of all of them.

elgydiumThis is what i found out experimenting.
In wrecking crew menu, select the following:
*Mode: Total chaos
*Map: Expansion
*Weapon: Thermobaric Rocket
*Building Collapse: High
*Rounds to win: 5
*Barrels: On

This way you'll get an average of 250,000-300,000 each round wich summons up to the wonderful amount of 1,300,000 in only 5mins.
Posted by elgydium on 28 Sep 09 at 00:15
YinYou should re-post that as another solution instead that way your method can get on top, if it is truely more efficient.

Rowdy185I jumped up from 130,000 average to 170,000 just by using tremor backpack

j2kworldI have been playing total choas and I dont see any score for me on the leaderboard should I be worried

RhyoliticJ2kworld...if you want to check your progress towards the achievement, head into the single player campaign, hit Start, then Statistics, then right shoulder button, and you can scroll through the different achievements. The game keeps track and displays your progress on all of them, so you'll know how many more MP wins you need, your Wrecking Crew progress, the number of crates you've destroyed, etc.

For me, Thermobaric was amounting to roughly 100k per round in Complex. I switched to Nano Rifle & Tremor and my scores are jumping up into the 130-180k range. How people can get 200k+ scores is beyond me.

NickHawkeyeThis should be noted in the solution ^^^^

as far as the leader board saying '0' that is because the leader board only counts the matches you play in the "challenge" mode where you have 1 round of escalation, one round of barrels and another round of something else but either way not even close to the most efficient way to get this. its a shame though you have to go into the single player to look at these stats. but at least there is a accurate number somewhere

Norm D MinotaurThis is a great solution, but I found that the singularity bombs worked better for me. Using the bombs and the tremor backback I was getting scores of 180k to 200k on the map (I got 140k to 170k with the thermo rockets). The problem using this combo, however, was that you have to get closer the buildings and sometimes would get hit by debris. This knocks you down and as result you lose time (and score). Low scores with the singularity bomb were about 100k.

Nit0rinGood solution, working on it, wish we could see how many millions we made so far or am I blind?
Posted by Nit0rin on 13 Sep 12 at 03:47
M00SEYou see how many points you have by loading up the campaign and then looking under achievements for it.

Mobius EvalonIf you're like me and wondering if any of the other methods have any merit -- they really don't. Thermobaric rockets have the most consistent point output that doesn't rely on pure dumb luck like whether or not a building will fall over in the post-match "break" phase using singularity bombs. The DLC map may be worth a look as XLR8ING 76131 mentions in his solution if you're willing to spend money on it (I certainly wasn't for a single achievement), but thermobaric rockets are certainly the way to go otherwise.

Mobius EvalonI would also like to add that very high scores are a matter of simply learning the physics. Somewhere around the halfway mark to this achievement you start to recognize how empty the bottom floor has to be to trigger a collapse, though the rule of thumb is that interior walls are much more critical to the building staying up than the exterior walls.

I've been running a 4 player/5 round matches for a while now using the normal rocket launcher, and my worst rounds are 155k. I fire 9-12 normal rockets and turn to the next building without waiting to watch it fall over. I've gotten a few 200k+ runs but I'm not entirely certain how -- it seems as though every round ends the same way with the fourth building collapsing or having already been collapsed under its own weight, but it's simply worth more sometimes for reasons I cannot discern.

At any rate, I would call consistent 125k runs a success. Any less than that means you're simply not doing it right. Consistent 160k runs mean you're at peak and you can't intentionally do much better (since the last 40k or so is just random.)
