ALL credit goes to Elmore1, who posted this information recently (01/11). Much thanks to him and friend Dead Rez for discovering and sharing this huge sanity-saving exploit. Using this method the achievement can be obtained in as little as 5-10 minutes, depending on skill/luck.

NOTE: This method requires two people.

NOTE: It has been reported this does not work using the hatchback (starter 3-door car). I have not tested to confirm but the recommendation is to use the 4-door S sedan model with 14-inch steel wheels. The idea is to use a slower car to assist in getting "stuck" on the walls of the spiral in level 8, which is the key to using this method, so upgrades work against the goal here.

Step 1: Start a multiplayer game on track 8, have boosting partner join/quick-search.

Step 2: Go through the track until the City Transformer boss appears after the last lap. Do not kill him, thus giving you all the time needed for next step. One player can begin "getting stuck" right away optionally.

NOTE: MAKE SURE you have at least 20-ish coins BEFORE NEXT STEP (coin inventory is displayed in lower-right corner of screen underneath Toyota logo) because coins are needed to emit a yellow "aura" (see Step 4).

Step 3: Have one player get "stuck" on a wall. It doesn't matter who but should probably be the least skilled/familiar with getting stuck for efficiency.

Jerkkhammer's advice on getting stuck:
"Getting Stuck - There are at least three parts of the spiral that you can get stuck in. First of all, stay on the right side only. Go as slow as possible and when the spiral is coming up move close to the right side. When it works you should get "sucked into" the spot just at the very beginning of the spiral, almost like a magnet. Immediately let go of the analog stick.

If you miss the beginning of the spiral there are 2 more spots in each spiral where you can get stuck. You'll be able to tell where they are because there will be a very small gap in the white wall. Use the same technique. Go as slow as possible then move close to the wall. When it works it should suck you right in, then immediately let go of the analog stick."

You will have better success getting stuck by moving along the wall smoothly until close to your target versus holding the stick right down and repeatedly bouncing into the walls. Just stay close enough to avoid rubbing until your spot comes up. See Youtube video links for visual aid. Practicing getting stuck in single-player is also MUCH quicker.

Step 4: Have the other player race around the track, leaving the boss alive, until he can get "stuck" in the EXACT same spot as the first player.

NOTE: Where a car "is" will be deceiving as the cars appear to warp (as seen in Youtube video) but rely on communication to ensure you are both in the exact same notch on the spiral wall. This may take multiple tries and up to an hour. You can take turns and use both stretches of spiral on the track to reduce time getting both people in the same spot. Once you are in the same spot both players hit "Y" button to emit your yellow aura and watch the score FLY.

Step 5: Once you are both stuck in the exact same spot on the spiral and have the yellow aura activated (Y), then both players money/points will sky-rocket to 999,999.

NOTE: As soon as it is bouncing around 990K-ish, I recommend having one person leave the spot and finish off the boss ASAP. Do not remain in the spot too long or coins can start draining, but try not to leave too quick either (I watched my coins drain from 900K to 600K the first time I tried and left early in panic/excitement). Press "A" before leaving to deactivate the yellow aura, which may or may not prevent losing coins.

Step 6: Destroy the boss. Achievement pops at menu screen with very little delay and "Leader of the Pack" is displayed on race results.

Enjoy and once again, ALL credit to Elmore1 for sharing. Credit to Jerkkhammer for an excellent description of Getting Stuck, much better than I could take three pages describing it. Credit to XP1 for providing video links (never watched them, just confirmed). Credit to dawpa2000 for making videos! Credit to CsK LuCiFeR for pointing out the existence of Elmore1's thread. Credit to the "other" site (x360a) for existing.

If you find anything in this solution lacking, please take a moment out of your busy schedule to comment and allow me an opportunity to improve BEFORE voting negatively. Happy boosting!

Update 03/07/11: Added credit to dawpa2000 for videos. Yet another negative vote with no explanation, sigh...
LSDintensityHoly shit, this looks amazing, yet particularly tricky, moment of truth when I do this with you though! I know it's gonna work like a charm, can't wait.

G3n3ralG3n0c1dEI got stuck within 10 seconds of my first attempt. Pulled off two 8-10 minute runs, followed by a 1 hour run with bad luck and being too tired.

G3n3ralG3n0c1dEOf course, that shouldn't prevent a positive vote if the solution looks good! Feel free to try it on another account! :-)

Leo AscendentTook us awhile, but we did it. Not sure if it was just me, but I found it much easier to get stuck at the beginning of the spiral as opposed to the middle or end.+1

PsybrnetiCToasTThanks a million-billion-trillion-uberillion-super-doooooper-omgwtfbbq-!!!!!-whatchasfjhwe!!!

I NEVER thought I would get this one. Amazingly helpful. My completion percentage is in your debt.

G3n3ralG3n0c1dECongrats and thanks for the comments. I hope the format is readable and I didn't ramble on too long. Three negative votes with no constructive criticism.

I think I'll stick to a step/note format. I know the above solution can be a bit overkill but it helps to read the steps a few times while ignoring the notes until familiar with the "gist" of things.

MassoudddI haven't all upgrades on my car.
How can I got the Aura for example ? It's with the car ? And when I have 20 000, I have to push Y ? Or is it something to win ?
Posted by Massouddd on 08 Apr 11 at 07:10
G3n3ralG3n0c1dEYou don't need all upgrades. Buy the 4 door S sedan and leave it alone.

The aura is a feature in multiplayer you have by default, but you do need coins to activate it. 20-30 will work fine, not 20,000. You press Y to activate the aura when stuck together.

Templar PunkWas gonna write this solution after reading Elmore1 and Dead Rez thread from until I saw yours ha! Needed to be shared! This game hurt so bad playing it! Just got it 30 minutes ago and the only thing I can add is the glitch caused my xbox to freeze twice, and that both players are able to get stuck together before the boss to get the 1 mil. Then have one player finish the boss (preferably the more skilled player) while the other stays put and then have the other player finish his laps! ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED!

Oh here's a link to the original thread, if anyone is interested:

Manifest95Yea, it has to be people upset that they actually played to get the coins that down voted your guide. I also missed out on this trick, but quite a few people on my friends list got this achievement thanks to this guide. Thumbs up from me!

This is the best guide ever! :) my friend and I just did it twice :D Thanks a billion

Scoochi2As soon as the level starts, there will be the first set of silver coins just on the right. Go at 100MPH and get level with those coins. You'll get stuck every time, in the same place! Just align yourself with the last few (to keep the rest for the other player/next attempt) when ready to get both players stuck in the same spot. Just keep in mind that the transformer and his minions will attack you- this could put you off course.

*confirmed with three accounts, all using 4 seater S sedan with 14" rims.

Mike WaldronOMG!!!!!! Amazing this really worked.....I was stuck at 777, 487 coins since 11/2007......IT WORKS!!!! Achievement Unlocked!!!!.....Great Job , and many thanks!!!

Crimson DrifterThanks it worked like a charm! I actually had a hard time getting stuck going 100, then I tried 110 and stuck 2 times in a row, not sure if thats luck or not, but could be a good alternative if you're having problems getting stuck.

Finally another 100% complete I never thought I'd have :D
Posted by Crimson Drifter on 26 May 11 at 06:51
Like others have mentioned the only people who would give this a thumbs down are the ones who did it the long way... and give a negative vote out of spite. Awesome find.

Elmore1You guys are all very welcome for this exploit... I'll pass your gratitude on to DEAD REZ.

D0CT0RJayTremendous guide thanks! Worked on my second try but the achievement didn't pop. I then replayed track 1 single player and after that I go the achievement. Just thought this might help someone else.

Thanks again for the awesome tip.

ElderGiasI can confirm this solution works. However, I have several comments that will help people having trouble getting stuck together.

1) Either use any version of the 4 Door Sedan or use a non-upgraded 4 Door Sedan S. An upgraded 4 Door Sedan S seems to have a harder time getting stuck.
2) When trying to get stuck on the loop, drive on the right side of the track, on the wall, near the edge. Do not try to drive into the edge of the wall or else you will bounce off. If you are near the wall, driving straight forward at top speed, you don't need to aim yourself at all and should get stuck without much trouble.
3) Do not activate the boost aura (Y) until you are SURE you are stuck together and won't accidentally slide out of where you are stuck. Doing so just gives you more headaches later if you try to get stuck together again.
4) After you come unstuck once you have tons of coins, one person should go slow and not speed up and the other should speed up and go kill the boss. If you are both going fast, you risk coming near one another again and then spilling each others coins (because of the aura).
5) In order to get unstuck, you need to drop your speed down to 100 MPH or below.

Hope that helps!

ShaneKarmaI would love for the schmucks who gave you a negative vote to explain why. Is it better to it legit and get 1000 coins a race and spend 100s of hours on this game? Anywhoo, thumbs way up!
Posted by ShaneKarma on 17 May 12 at 18:37
MH The RockstarThis is perfect! Just make sure you use one of the 4 door sedans as you cannot get stuck with the hatchback very easily - if at all.
Posted by MH The Rockstar on 12 Nov 12 at 03:25
AkirakornWorked great! Thanks a bunch. My only addition is you will only get about 950,000 coins, because your score maxes out at 999,999 first. Just do this twice and swap who wins if need be.

IMPORTANT: Make sure the host doesn't quit out before the other 'finishes' the race. I hosted and partner killed the boss so I went straight back to main menu and he didn't get anything.
Posted by Akirakorn on 29 Dec 12 at 10:41
Crimson RidleyThis glitch worked perfectly, thank you so much! I didn't have any problems getting stuck, because I was using my second console to boost this, so all I had to do was look at the other screen. :P
Posted by Crimson Ridley on 27 Feb 13 at 12:21
MathGuy42Just did this with a friend. I was Red and he was Silver. I was able to see him when we got stuck together, so using two different colors might make this a bit easier.

ChucklestyleHaving just boosted this, I have a little bit of advice for getting stuck on the first corkscrew. Once you and your tag team partner get around the track enough to draw out the boss, stay to the left of the track as the boss will focus most of his attention to the right. My "race line" was just on the glass to the left of the rumble strip, so basically I was on the left side of the track, right side of the glass. I came around to the first spiral in that position at 125 mph, in the 4 door with default tires. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR STEERING, HEAD IN A STRAIGHT LINE INTO THE FIRST CORKSCREW FROM THIS POSITION. We were able to get stuck fairly easity in a repeatable position this way, which was great because the first time we ran up the score I got spun out by the boss and lost half my coins.

Good luck!

HolyHalfDeadI would like to add that you can do this on Ranked, so neither of you need to have unlocked any of the tracks. Getting this achievement so you can pimp your ride early on makes the remaining achievements easier.

Pressing A when you have 999,999 coins will stop you losing any coins to the other player. Only one of you needs to unstick themselves to finish the level.

This took me 20 minutes on my second attempt using two Xboxes. Being able to see both screens helps, and you can leave your main account safely stuck on 999,999 coins, while your second account goes off to finish the level.

XpovosI want to add a voice giving props to Chucklestyle. We'd been at this for a while and had even successfully gotten both stuck in the same place for the glitch once, but subsequent battling with the boss and coin loss from damage meant we needed to do it a second time for both players to have 1M total. We'd done it before... but we couldn't both get stuck in the same place again. 45 minutes later we try Chucklestye's suggestion, worked first try. Ding, achievement unlocked. If you're having any trouble with the getting stuck part, try his technique!
