The easiest way to get this achievement is the sword familiar- gem glitch.
Have only one of any gem in your inventory and equip the Sword familiar. Stand in front of the Master Librarian and use the sword brothers spell. Quickly approach the librarian to bring up the menu. Go to the jewel selling menu and press the back button on the 360 controller. Equip the jewel you want to sell. Press the back button again to close the menu and sell the jewel, then exit the shop. You now have 255 of that game to sell and makes a big sum You must have all $100,00 in your inventory. It is not cumulative.
Cheese Touch When you do this, you will have E9 gems (233 in hexadecimal, not 255) and as you sell them this number will drop down to E0 (224) and then roll back to E9 so you can sell gems infinitely. Since it's unclear what will happen if you accumulate additional gems, I'd advise just doing this glitch to get the achievement and the quit without saving so you don't accidentally hose your game. There's plenty of money to buy stuff from the librarian in the game so there's no need to glitch for it outside of the annoying achievement.

Soulbite I had issues on the PSX with glitched saves but that hasn't happened so far :) I did the glitch and sold 99 garnets at a time, avoiding the hexadecimals. Worked like a charm.

K4rn4ge Great guide +1 but you may want to fix the digits in the number - you say "$100,00" when it should be $100,000 but not really a big deal :)

Uzumaki DK Completed the game normally (first time ever) and at the end I sold my rings etc. and ended up having $100,000+, so this is definitely doable without the glitch if you plan on getting the Seeker achievement with this in the back of your head.
