A handy tip for Mission 5: Arcadia Outskirts.

Turn on the skull that gives a 5% chance for non-player units to explode. It can easily wipe out a grouping of infantry in the early part of the mission, which is a godsend considering the sheer numbers that get thrown at you. I had the Spartan Laser using guy garrisoned in the overturned Warthog to the side of the broken down highway by the crater. He would laser a group and the explosion would take out 2-3 separate squads.

Once Omega Team shows up, the mission is essentially done. Take out the remaining attackers, head on over to the Mega Turret, build the second base and get some Vultures to take out the Covenant base.

Of course, the problem is surviving to get to the point where Omega Team shows up. I can't believe that both this Mission and Mission 4 made it through QA.
Omar McnastyActually it would be better to place your 3 Spartans at the 3 points of cover next to where the turret will spawn. Once it does they should take it out easy. Capture the second base. While the Covenant send like a billion hunters, wraiths, ghost, and Elite squads to your first base, they'll never attack your second. The only thing that harms your 2nd base is some banshees (which were probably on the way to attack your first base), but your Spartans take them out quickly. A hornet army should be enough to take out the enemy base. And if you lose your 1st base I wouldn't recommend trying to take it back. Why is this level so hard on Legendary? Its so easy on the other difficulties.

LuuBuI did what OMARCARMONA did and it took me a REALLY long time. I essentially had to drive a warthog around and just use the MAC cannon on the group whenever I had them in line of sight. Then waited for the laser to re-up then rinsed and repeated. And once OMEGA Team dropped they all died and did nothing. This was a hard level.

The best way is to send your main unit to where the enemy plasma is and set up two Spartans there while 1 marine squad takes the reactor in the center-right (another near the 2nd), and Forge should take the path to the right and collect up all the minerals. Your tanks are useless, but the Rhinos did best when they were set up next to your 1st base turrets. I had one Spartan hold up on the left cover of the 1st base and I steady took that side road to the left to stop the onslaught of covenant.

While doing all of that I gathered the crap out of supplies and used nothing but MAC Cannon to take out the enemy wraiths. I built mainly Rhinos because of their range (Leap Frog tactics) and Hornets (best vs Hunters and Wraiths). I got a gold medal on Legendary with this. No skulls on at all and done SOLO. I do not recommened trying for a gold... unless you love trench warfare.

DragonFangDanI actually your suggestions useful. I didn't try any of the others, but this seemed effective nonetheless. Having all the spartans stationed on cover saved me until the army of spartans arrived.
